*Part 5 Slept On Hip Hop In The 90's (1994)*
1994 was a golden year in the most productive period in hip hop's history and great LP's were being dropped almost every month. Some went on to become acknowledged classics such as debuts from Nas & Jeru. Others seemed to make a big noise on release and then disappear without a trace. There seemed to be no rhyme or reason to this either. Here a a few classic albums that got overlooked in the maddness of 94!

Digable Planets - Blowout Comb
Another wonderful effort by brooklyns own digable planets. Guru of Gang Starr and Jeru the Damaja make great guest appearances on here also. The greatest part of the album is the funky jazz music presented on here and it's a shame more people haven't heard of this album or the DPs.

Casual - Fear Itself
One of the best to come out of the west in the 90s....Every tracks is jumping, crazy wordplay, funky beats. A classic 90s album, not to be overlooked. Heiro in full effect!

DJ Q-bert - Demolition Pumpkin Squeeze Music This album started Q-Bert's reputation on the wheels of steel. A continuous mix of cobwebbed breakbeats, highly inventive scratches, and an endless array of off The chain samples & cut's

Odd Squad - Faddanuf Fa Everybody
Deven The Dude, Jugg Mugg and “Blind” Rob Quest make up the Odd Squad. This Houston Rap-A-Lot trio mixes east coast beats with 5th Ward lyrics...this album is very rare and out of print..so grab it now.

Brand Nubian - Everything Is Everything
This by far is The Nubians most slept on album...I could not find any reason to not give this one a 5. It is 5 Mic Music a great blend of rapping and intoxicating beats. "Claimin im a Criminal" goes down as one of my top 50 songs of all time!

Scientifik - Criminal
This Boston MC and Ed O.G affiliate seemed to sink without a trace. Why is one of those unfathomable myseteries of the music business. This is solid gold from start to finish and a quick look at the credits gives you a clue as to why. The producers listed include Diamond D,RZA,Buckwild and Ed O.G.Now that is a line up to rival Illmatic.

that blowout combs is a classic, nuff said,to me brand nubian's best album was in god we trust, but back to the subject, everything is everything was an album for me was very hard for me to listen, but a couple of listens later, i like it, its better than foundation and fire in the hole, the buckwild remix for word is bond is fire.and criminal by scientifik is mad dark and grimey, i had to download it because it was out of print until i heard taht it was put back in the shleves, ed o.g. did his thing on the production, mad props to that cat,and r.i.p. scientifik, for those who didn't know he died in a car accident in 1996.and the most blunted album u can get in soulseek, soulseek is good when it comes to diggin',peace.
