*Slow Jam Sundays - Part 1 (Curtis Mayfield)*

Welcome to Part 1 of Slow Jam Sunday's. As a child my mother never gave me any grief about bumpin Public Enemy & Wu-Tang in here ear Monday thru Saturday, just as long as i gave it a rest on Sundays. From the morning sounds of Gosple to the Slow Jams in the evening....Sundays are for chillin! So im gonna take that family tradition on, and dedicate every Sunday..... Slow Jam Sunday.

Curtis Mayfield.....A versatile and creative musician, Mayfield is usually remembered for performing the funky soundtrack to the 1972 blaxploitation movie Superfly. The album is considered one of R&B's landmark discs, and Mayfield became an influence on many later soul, rock, and R&B musicians. Mayfield was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice: as an individual performer (inducted 1999) and as the leader of the 1960s soul group the Impressions (inducted 1991).

People Get Ready! The Curtis Mayfield Story
A must-have box set charting the soul legend’s musical evolution through 51 recordings, from The Impressions’ 1961 smash “Gypsy Woman” to his seminal Superfly soundtrack in 1972 to solo sides from 1990, cut just before the accident that left him paralyzed but still pushin’.

CURTIS MAYFIELD - Superfly
The standard single-disc version of the dopest blaxploitation movie soundtrack ever! Also includes the single versions of “Freddie’s Dead (Theme From ‘Superfly’)” and “Superfly” as bonus tracks.

CURTIS MAYFIELD - Curtis/Live! (Deluxe Reissue)
Recorded at The Bitter End in New York City, soul poet Curtis Mayfield’s live debut as a solo artist is brilliantly captured on this classic 1971 release, One of my all time favorite Sunday Albums!
