Erick Sermon

Erick Sermon aka The Green Eyed Bandit aka E-Double. As one half of your favorite rapper's favorite rap group in the world, EPMD, Sermon has always been a key figure in hip-hop. As a producer and as a solo artist E-Dub made a major impact in the game from the mid to late 90's. He began recording solo albums for Def Jam in 1993; in 1997, he rejoined EPMD. The following year, Sermon, Murray and Redman created the Def Squad. EPMD disbanded a second time in 1998. In the last few years, controversy has surrounded the rapper with rumors of suicide attempts. I just wish we could have back that raw Sermon NY sound once again in hip hop today.

yea i agree wit that, i used to listen to def squad hard, not their albums together, their solo joints like redman, erick's,keith's, and jamal's solo joints, honestly i liked erick sermon's stuff that he released and produced for other people from 1993-1996,the beats that he did during those 3 years to me is his best production to date, it was more dark and mad street, and it had like a funky feel to it,that insomnia is one of my favorite compilations of all time, the beats in there is mad dark and i felt like erick did his best in that album, but yea i think his first two album were the best that he put out, he is definetely underrated, his former partner pmd's first album shade business is siiiiick, thats another hot joint, and that was his best album in my opinion, the beats were dark as hell,he'a underrated as well, defenitely a lyricist, need to check that album out.peace.
