PMD (Parrish Smith)
PMD, Parrish Smith (aka the Mic Doctor aka The Pee MD) One Half of the legendary hip hop group, EPMD (Eric and Parrish Makin Dollars) with Erick Sermon. The duo split in January of 1993, under controversial circumstances. According to interviews in The Source and Rap Pages, in late 1991, Smith’s house was burglarized by armed intruders. According to Smith, in the ensuing police investigation, one of the apprehended culprits supposedly gave up Sermon’s name as having allegedly paid them to do it. Sermon was arrested and briefly detained for questioning, but no charges were filed. They got back together for a few more album but the duo never regained that fire they had in the past.

my only favorite album from pmd is shade business, this album is mad dark its like the nyc blackout in 1977 dark, he was very angry in this album, and he did most of the production, and he's a ill lyricist and i heard that him and erick are reuniting, thats something hip hop definetely needs, and its sad that pmd's career didn't go so well, he had hit squad which were das efx and k-solo and top quality, and erick had def squad which were keith murray, redman and jamal,my favorite tracks are shade business (that beat is mad dark), respect mine (i liked the way he flipped that sample, he made it sound mad evil and gritty), here they cum (das efx did their thing), Fake homeyz, and No Shorts And No Sleep (i like the bassline in the beat), bottom line if u wanna hear grimy boom bap, cop this album, and another thing, if they're really serious about vringing back ny back, these groups like def squad, epmd, a tribe called quest, gangstarr, etc to really bring back new york, trust me. one love, support real hip hop.
